We have several different ways for students at University Park to get help in mathematics. Whether you are worried about succeeding in your mathematics classes or simply want to improve your understanding, there is a place for you in our math learning communities. We are here to help you succeed.

Our mathematics tutors can help you find answers to your questions, work with you to review material for quizzes and tests, provide you with test preparation and test taking tips, help you establish short and long term study goals, review exams from previous semesters, and much more.

University Park students in courses between MATH 004 and MATH 141 should visit our tutors in 7 Sparks during our in-person drop-in only tutoring hours. Students may also drop-in online via Zoom by visiting our online options here: Online Math Tutoring Zoom Links. Please see the links for the Zoom sessions in our Announcements. Students in MATH 220 through MATH 251 should visit 7A Sparks during the hours listed above for drop-in tutoring. For help in other mathematics courses, please visit the Math Department's Undergraduate Courses page.

Some students also get help by working in a group with other students from their course. We offer Guided Study Groups in some mathematics courses for students who want to work with others under the guidance of a tutor. You don't have to sign up or make an appointment - just show up and join the group. For more information about Guided Study Groups, including a complete schedule, visit our Guided Study Group page.

How much work will it be?We know you have other courses in which your grade matters. However, the only way to actually develop and retain skills from this course is to put in the time into coming to lecture and discussion, reading the book/watching lecture videos, and (most importantly) doing the homework. Not including time spent in class, a rough estimate is 5 hours per week.

Solving this requires using a branch of mathematics called graph theory, created by Leonard Euler. This mathematics looks to reduce problems to network graphs like that shown above. Before we can solve this we need to understand some terminology:

Prerequisites. This course is aimed for advanced undergraduate and graduate students interested in logic and theoretical computer science. Familiarity with basic logic and discrete mathematics (CS 173), basic algorithms and theory of computation (CS 374), and mathematical maturity will be expected.

2013-2014-SpringSets and propositions: Finite and infinite sets, mathematical induction, propositions. Permutations, combinations, and discrete probability. Relations and functions: binary, equivalence relations, partitions, partial ordering, functions. Graphs: weighted graphs, paths and circuits, shortest paths. Eulerian and Hamiltonian paths. Trees. Abstract algebra: groups, cosets, Lagrange's theorem, Boolean algebra.

Welcome to Discrete Mathematics 1, a course introducing Set Theory, Logic, Functions, Relations, Counting, and Proofs. Below, you will find the videos of each topic presented. If you have any suggestions or would like more practice on a certain topic, please send your suggestions to contact@trevtutor.com

Indeed, you have done a great job.Suggestion: Please write about the prerequisites below the course content.Otherwise what are the prerequisites for discrete mathematics 1 and Linear Algebra.

This is going to be great help to learn a lot of this stuff before I take Discrete in the fall semester in college. Discrete will be the hardest math class in the fall so these videos are a great help before I learn it,cause most of my time will be spent understanding Discrete cause I have many other classes to worry about that will be on the easier side like Calc and physics. Thanks for you help your videos make sense and you are a great tutor.
